Nano Tungsten Trioxide Cathode Material for Lithium-ion Battery
Tungsten trioxide (WO3) is a stable n-type semiconductor, photocatalyst and gas sensor. In recent years, it has also become an attractive cathode material because of its physical and chemical properties and wide potential applications. As a cathode material, WO3 also has a high theoretical capacity (693mAhg-1), is low-cost and environmentally friendly, but due to the large volume expansion and pulverization, the capacity degradation is also very serious. In addition, similar to other metal oxides, WO3 also has low conductivity and poor lithium ion diffusion as a cathode material.
Nano tungsten trioxide used to produce lithium-ion battery cathode materials has achieved industrialized mass production and is expected to gradually replace cobalt as the main raw material for lithium-ion batteries.
